Children & Families Ministry Team Leader: Kathy B. Lister

 

Kathy loves Children, and is honored and excited to serve God by being the Children’s Ministry Director and part of the ministry team at Adoration Church.

 

Kathy is a native Floridian. She was raised in John’s Pass where she and her family owned and operated The John’s Pass Cottages which her parents built in 1945.

 

She attended Gulf Beaches Elementary School, Madeira Beach Middle School, and graduated in 1974 from Seminole High School. After getting her Associate Arts degree at St. Petersburg Jr. College, Kathy went on to the University of Florida to receive her BFA in Theatre. Kathy was then accepted into the American Academy for Dramatic Arts in New York City where is attended for two years while working at Radio City Music Hall.

 

Returning to Florida in 1982 she married Terry Lister.  They have one daughter, Jennifer.  Kathy worked for Wee Friends Pre-school at Seminole First Baptist Church for nine years.  She also worked at the before-and-after school care program at Oakhurst United Methodist for four years.  In 2000 Kathy became the Director of Children’s Ministries at Church by the Sea where she served for 14 years.  In 2001 she joined Nancy Sears and Abba Dabba Theatre Camp and continues to work with Nancy in the theatrical program.  Nancy has cast and directed Kathy and  her husband Terry in her productions of “Annie” and “Grease”.
